System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager SP1: Installing and Configuring Dell EqualLogic Arrays with a SMP provider

Items needed
- Dell EqualLogic Host Integration Tool Kit version 4.5 https://support.equallogic.com/
NOTE: Site does require a login and a valid EqualLogic Service Tag to obtain the HitKit - Dell EqualLogic PS Array running 5.2.4 FW or higher
- System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 with Service Pack 1 applied
- SCVMM Host with access to your iSCSI subnet
- Windows Server 2012
- Install the Dell Host Integration Tools on your SCVMM server and reboot
- Open the iSCSI Initiator and add the group IP as a discovery portal
3.Start the Virtual Machine Manager Command Shell from the start menu
4.Next you will need to import the EqualLogic PowerShell Tools by using the following command PS C:\> Import-Module -Name “C:\Program Files\EqualLogic\bin\EQLPSTools.dll”
5.Then will need to import the storage provider to allow VMM to see the group. This is done via the following command PS C:\> Import-SCStorageProvider
6.Now open the Remote Setup Wizard from the start menu
7.At the following screen choose Configure MPIO Settings
8.Once at the MPIO screen EXCLUDE the non iSCSI subnets from MPIO then click Save
9.After the Save complete select the PS Group Access Tab on the Left, then select your SCVMM host from the center.
10.Once the host is selected choose PowerShell/SMP under PS Group Access and fill in your Group IP, then your Group Username and Password and hit SAVE.
11.Next open SCVMM and on the left hand side choose Fabric
12.Under Storage on the left side choose providers Verify that you see Dell EqualLogic Storage in the Center Screen
13.Next Right click on Arrays on the left side of the screen and choose Add Storage Devices
14.Choose Add a storage device that is managed by an SMP provider on the next screen then hit next
15.In the Provider drop down box select your array
16.You should see your array be discovered on the next screen once the Scan completes, then hit next
17.Select the Pools you want to allow SCVMM to manage and assign it a Classification (Note: If you do not have any classifications see Step 17a)
17a. You can create your own Classifications by clicking the Create Classification button on the bottom Right these are primarily just for organization and they can be Renamed at a later time easily.
